HADAD Conversion Clarifiaction

Well, I went back and looked at my last few posts and realized how scattered my design process has been for creating spellslingers and playing them during a HIBRiD game, so I thought I would clean things up and clear up which rules to use and when.

1: HiBRiD Black and White

The HiBRiD Black and White flavor is designed to be quick, simple, and easy. It is one step up from a beer-and-pretzels roleplaying game. To obtain this level of simplicity and still enjoy the use of the Ite' Gaming Engine, it uses character templates to increase the speed of character creation. As a result, the HiBRiD Spellslingers Part 2 entry doesn't apply to this flavor of HiBRiD, as the character's "class" is determined by the template the player chose during Step 2 of character creation. The material presented in my other blog entries ( HiBRiD Spellslingers Part 1, Templates Redbox D&D Humans and Templates Redbox D&D Nonhumans (soon to come) still applies.

2: HiBRiD Grey

The Shades of Gray flavor increases the complexity of the game another notch. It uses the same creation rules to make characters but enables players to create their own templates by modifying the character's attributes, skills, and aspects. It also enables players to use different Phenotypes to further customize their characters. Since these templates may not directly match those in the spell descriptions of whatever Reference Document the director is using (Basic, Advanced, 2nd Edition advanced, 3rd Edition, et cetera, the players and director can use the HiBRiD Spellslingers Part 2 entry to convert these templates to the proper classes in the reference document.

3: HiBRiDTM Silver

The Silver flavor increases the crunch of character creation significantly. Rather than using templates, players must use a 3-step process to create a unique character concept, then use a point system to customize their attributes, then use their character's age and intelligence attribute to determine their skills and finally, use another point system to custom build their character's aspects. For this system, the use of the HiBRiD Spellslingers Part 2 entry is necessary while the HiBRiD Spellslingers Part 1, entry should be ignored.
